MP Materials is seeking an energetic, engaging and detail-oriented EHS Learning And Development Specialist who can define, build, and execute all aspects of the environmental, health, and safety-related training programs for our new Magnetics business unit in Fort Worth, TX. This business unit will manufacture the rare earth alloys and magnets required to secure the future of US electrification, and the Fort Worth site will perform a mix of chemical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and machining processes that each have their own unique EHS profile. The Trainer will work with the EHS, Operations, and HR teams to ensure there is a robust, effective, and compliant training program covering all EHS-related aspects of these processes.

The Trainer will report directly to the EHS Manager and will have primary responsibility for all training programs, including follow-up auditing to ensure effectiveness of the delivered training modules. The Trainer will also be expected to act as a facilitator and scribe for JHAs, HazOps, Change Management, and other EHS and EHS-adjacent group activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee all EHS training practices and activities.

  • Develop and continually update all EHS training curriculum.

  • Develop and implement an EHS training program for new employee onboarding.

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations and Quality teams to create department-specific training, covering topics such as PIT, HazMat, Line-of-Progress, and equipment- or process-specific EHS trainings.

  • Regularly walk the floor to confirm day-to-day operations are consistent with trained practices and initiate additional training as needed.

  • Create and lead a formal SOP and Internal Process Audit program.

  • Create and execute a visitor hazard and EHS training program covering the full scope of on-site visit types, from one-time to longer-term and from office to factory floor.

  • Facilitate and act as scribe for EHS and EHS-adjacent group activities such as JHAs, JSAs, HazOps, Change Management, and others as required.

  • Support and lead policy roll-out and training activities.

  • Participate in Near Miss reporting, facilitate analysis of Near Miss events, and produce training content to introduce and reinforce safe practices that help avoid these events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ Years of experience developing and delivering EHS Training content in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to learn all site policies and procedures and train others.

  • Extensive understanding of OSHA/EPA Regulations.

  • Extensive knowledge of 5S and Continuous Improvement practices.

  • Knowledge of PFD's and P&ID's.

  • Experience with evaluating and sourcing 3rd party training programs.

  • Knowledge and experience with Corrective Action problem-solving practices.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Available to work a flexible, full-time work schedule (40+ hrs a week).

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of PHA facilitation.

  • Skilled in identifying and implementing metrics for evaluating effectiveness.
