Summer Internship EH&S Intern

PURPOSE:

Join the Berry Global Engineered Materials Division this summer in an internship assignment. Our mission is to foster an environment of learning and application. Our commitment is to provide you with a real-life, meaningful experience where you will manage projects from start to finish, network with cross-functional teams, and give a final presentation to showcase your excellent work. We strive to challenge you and reward you for good work.

As a EH&S Intern, you will gain hands on experience working on a variety of projects assisting our teams in solving complex business challenges. This position will work at both the Bloomington, IN and Odon, IN facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work on PPE Management improvements to reduce waste and costs

  • Participate in site audits to identify hazards that need visual identification such as pinch-points, electrical hazards, fork lift traffic etc.

  • Help with implementation of 6S program throughout the plant including organizing labeling and floor marking activities

  • Assist in updating Risk Analyses

  • Participate in GEMBA walks, Workplace Observation program, and corrective action determinations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in an accredited Baccalaureate or Master's degree program with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Problem-solving skills, assertiveness and strong initiative

  • Team-oriented thinking with enthusiasm for continuous learning

  • Minimum completion of sophomore status in good standing preferred

  • Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles preferred

Sales Generation and Guest Service Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and is consistently prepared to provide legendary service to each Guests. Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development Consistently recognize recruiting opportunities by utilizing Jobs and Careers cards, email referrals, and Teammate recommend. Visual Merchandise Management Present merchandise in a manner that will maximize sales and achieve optimum merchandise turn. Operations Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, all based upon store and business needs. Consistently maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store to fulfill Buckle's mission statement. Internship Duties Complete Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual. Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager. Put knowledge into action by managing a product category – set sales goals, educate teammates and track your own results.
