Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic's global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
We have an immediate opening for an EHS Engineer at our Plant in Cranberry Township, PA. This role will support Environmental, Health and Safety functions with concentration on Industrial Hygiene.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Ergonomics Program Management
EHS Metrics and EHS Web Page Management
Respiratory Protection Program
Support Environmental tasks as needed (i.e.: internal audits)
Assist with employee training activities (i.e.: new hires, monthly EHS training, etc.)
Assist in developing and executing strategic and tactical safety & health plans to drive fatality prevention, increase hazard recognition, drive improvement in EHS performance metrics
Help to lead and integrate Human Performance integration
Within Industrial Hygiene, the EHS Professional will provide technical guidance, consulting services and interpretation/guidance in industrial hygiene, safety and radiation/laser safety
Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs to meet regulatory and Arconic requirements (Hazard Exposure, Incident and Non-Conformance Corrective and Preventive Action, Health Hazards Controls, Dust and Fine Particulates)
Anticipate, identify and respond to customer needs for health, safety and radiation/laser safety compliance
Serve as a technical mentor and provide leadership to respiratory protection, radiation/laser safety, chemical inventory, ergonomics and other network coordinators
Provide recommendations on the implementation of engineering controls, personal protective equipment, and work practices based on interpretation of sampling data
Seek and identify opportunities to enhance Arconic EHS programs through networking and benchmarking with Alcoa plant locations, associations with regulatory personnel and other corporations
Maintain chemical inventory database and ensure SDS software tool is available to all employees
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene or Environmental, Health & Safety from an accredited institution.
At least 2 years of professional work experience
