Veolia Sulfuric Acid Regeneration Services has an EHSConsultant position available. This role will cover facilities located inLinden, New Jersey (Morses Mill) and Delaware City, Delaware (Red Lion). Thisis a highly visible, key role within the Company and the EHS function. Thisposition will report to the Director of EHS with dotted line reporting to the PlantManagers.
The EHS Consultant willperform tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Directsproject/program activities of EHS for continuous improvement of safety performance.
AssessEHS impacts of proposed changes, obtain permit modifications, and develop andimplement EHS programs and procedures to address new or changing requirements.
Ensurethe site is in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federalregulations and meets expectations of Veolia's EHS standards. Stay abreast of applicable standards andregulations and implement changes at both plants to address changes torequirements.
Ensureregulatory reporting is complete and accurate (Title V, Tier II, Tier III,Hazardous Waste,etc).
Leads Injury/Illness managingprocesses and OSHA recordkeeping.
Lead/Participatein process safety startup reviews, job safety analyses, task risk assessments.
Providestrategic leadership on EHS matters. Oversee performance in EHS Core Values for operations. Drive continuous improvement in EHS programsand manage the site EHS systems. Ensure ResponsibleCare Management Systems are fully functional.
Preparefor and coordinate EHS 1st party audit program; corporate auditsincluding preparation of follow-up facility action plans and progressreports. Coordinate 3rd party audits
Managespecific EHS issues and incidents. Participate in incident investigations, provide root cause failureanalysis support to investigation, and ensure systems are in place to completerecommendations and effectiveness checks in a timely fashion.
In order tobe qualified for this role, you mustpossess the following:
BS or higher degreein environmental science, safety, engineering or related discipline or an AAand a minimum of 15 years of EHS experience in an industrial chemicalmanufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years ofenvironmental EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must be a self-starter who can workindependently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Ability to multi-task, deal with fast changingand sometimes conflicting priorities, and who possesses strong organizationalskills.
Ability to collaborate, networking skills, andinterpersonal relations are important to the job.
Computer skills:ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
Ability for overnight travel 25% of time.
Thefollowing skill sets are preferred bythe business unit:
Experience with PSMis preferred
Experience with air, water, and waste programs strongly preferred.
