Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking an environmental professional for its automotive campus in Greensboro, NC. The campus has been recognized as a leader in environmental compliance, sustainability, and initiative by the State of North Carolina. Serving as a Steward in North Carolina's Environmental Stewardship Initiative, the Greensboro campus is a model for other sites seeking to improve their own environmental performance. Their status as Stewards also allows the campus the opportunity to benchmark against, and learn from, other environmental leaders in the State. TE is continuously looking for the best and brightest candidates to join our team, to learn, and to bring fresh ideas and best practices for continual improvement.

This ideal candidate for this position will complement the campus' Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) team with technical and tactical support. This role requires the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the business. Candidates identified for on-site interviews will be asked to offer a brief presentation to the site leadership and EH&S teams to effectively communicate their interests, skills, and notable accomplishments

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal and systematic reviews of campus operations and activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as CAA, CWA, RCRA, TSCA, SARA, etc. and applicable State of North Carolina rules and regulations.

  • Prepare and/or facilitate reports and documents as required by regulatory agencies and corporate management

  • Regularly monitor regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance with upcoming changes in federal, state, and local rules and regulations

  • Provide regular reports to the EH&S Manager regarding compliance status, the cost of compliance, and the results of audits and inspections

  • Continually review trends and introduce, for management consideration, new policies and practices

  • Effectively manage the campus ISO 14001:2015 management system and certification

  • Manage and coordinate emergency preparedness, response activities, and contingency plan to best protect company assets and ensure business continuity

  • Review industrial hygiene needs and coordinate monitoring

  • Interact with all departments and all levels of management to provide EH&S support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with an environmental, engineering, or project management concentration.

  • Professional certifications a plus (e.g., REM, CHMM, CEP). Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

  • 2+ year's relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Background in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously working on multiple projects that may involve several stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations

  • Strong knowledge of RCRA & EPCRA regulations, preferred

  • Interest in personal and professional growth, to include growth in occupational health and safety

  • Exceptionally strong organizational skills

  • Self-driven and able to manage multiple and changing priorities with little direction and supervision

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to develop multiple solutions to an issue and make valid recommendations for resolution

  • Able to organize and present data/information in creative and concise ways to make complex ideas understandable across all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

As such, the position includes responsibilities that touch both of these areas. Applications Systems Administrators routinely work hand in hand with Infrastructure, Product Support, Install, and Development. A typical day may include application deployment, Operating System/Citrix/Network troubleshooting, Configuring Active Directory/Share/NTFS permissions, as well as Triage incoming issues for routing to the appropriate personnel. As a level III administrator the candidate is expected to leverage technical expertise and strong communication skills to resolve escalated issues and to guide junior administrators. This will require after-normal-business hours support, occasional weekend work, and will require being part of the technical 24/7 on-call rotation. Availability to work a flexible schedule occasionally to meet customer and project needs is required. Aptitude Requirements * Service-oriented mentality. * Strong troubleshooting skills. * High sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned. * Focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs. * Strong communicator. Establish and maintain communications with customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, influence customers, and successfully set their expectations. Has well developed listening skills. * Able to resolve basic and intermediate issues within CentralSquare application, servers, and network, independently. Proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes. * Able to perform root cause analysis of problems. * Able to maintain effective team relationships through appropriate communications skills, participation in team discussions, and assisting other team members with resolving issues or completing projects. * Well established documentation skills. Experience Requirements * Strong working knowledge of basic network troubleshooting: verifying open ports, testing routes and connectivity, etc. * Intermediate to high level of experience with installing, updating, and supporting operating systems such as Windows Server and HP-UX. * Intermediate level of experience with backups, restore and recovery models. * Intermediate to high level of experience working in a VMware production environment. * Active Directory (Trusts, User/Group admin and design) and proper disk configurations. * SAN operations and usage. * Citrix XenApp / Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops experience a big plus. * Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts. Educational Requirements * Certification is a plus; Microsoft - MTA, MCSA, MCSE; CompTIA - A+, Network+, Cloud+; GIAC – GISF, GCUX, GCWN, GSEC * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields or equivalent years of work experience required. * 5 years work experience in a production environment Other Requirements * Ability to travel (expect less than 15%) to client sites and/or conferences. * Have a cell phone and be willing to share cell phone number with coworkers. * When working remotely or on-call, have Internet access and be able to respond quickly while on-call. * Work directly with customers both during normal business hours and during on-call rotation.
