JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY

This job description establishes and defines the authority, accountability, reporting relationships, responsibilities, and duties of EH & S Coordinator within the Inspection Division at Central Flying Service.

NON - DOT SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Inspection Supervisor reports directly to the Chief Inspector.

The EH & S Coordinator works directly with the Chief Inspector in the development and implementation of policies and procedures under Central Flying Services environmental health and safety program.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Environmental Science with 2 years of relevant experience or a minimum of 5 years of experience of relevant experience.

Preferred: Experience in the Aviation industry and environmental waste.

Licensing/Registration/Certification

OSHA 10 or 30 is a plus

CIH or CSP is a plus

Physical

These include walking through maintenance spaces and use of stairs to interface with corporate entities. Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time working at a computer. The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and bending, reaching, and crouching. Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be cognizant of the dangers, in particular those associated with loud noises, while working in a hazardous flight environment for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds with regularity. These are requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The work for this position will be based in a climate controlled, smoke free office environment during the workday. The employee will be required to travel throughout all maintenance spaces, hangars, and across aircraft parking ramps, exposed to the temperature ranges typically found in Little Rock, AR.

DUTIES AND TASKS

  • Conducts annual safety equipment inspections and documents results (e.g., fall

protection).

  • Conducts or assures monthly safety equipment inspections (eye washes, showers, fire extinguishers, etc.)

  • Conducts investigations for accident/incidents and documents results and coordinate with HR for any WC claims.

  • Complies with monthly Water Reclamation Authority report.

  • Assures annual PPE Hazard Assessments are complied with and recorded.

  • Complies with requirements of annual Hazardous Waste reports (ADEQ).

  • Schedules and assures compliance with annual respirator physical/fit checks.

  • Assures monthly department inspections are C/W by each department.

  • Develop, schedule, conduct, and record EH & S training.

  • Maintain a current list of chemicals and assure SDSs are available for each.

  • Develops and maintains EH & S policies and procedures to assure compliance with Federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Prepares data and leads all EH & S onsite visits/audits.

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain required EH & S reports and records.

  • Schedules and conducts safety meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a part time non-DOT safety sensitive position.

Basic Qualifications

Education and Experience:

This position will assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental, safety and health policies and procedures and best practices, particularly related to product manufacturing, transportation and services for rental and sales of industrial pumps and related equipment at branch offices located across the United States. Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: * Drive and except zero as an acceptable safety culture with injuries and zero environmental NOVs. * Manage direct reports with their personal and technical development. * Assist Sr. Regional EHS&S Manager with exceeding sustainability goals. * Serves as an EHS&S subject matter expert and business partner for the Region in which they support. * Routinely periodic site visits to provide in person support and assistance as appropriate based upon need and business conditions. * Assist regional branches with coordination, development and delivery of EHS&S training and education programs for new hires and existing employees either by use of CBT or in person training to meet regulatory and Xylem requirements. * Assist regional branches in identification of facility/job site hazards and risks to prevent injuries, spills or other EHS&S impacts and to ensure compliance with company and customer-specific safety standards and government regulations. * Collaborate with managers, supervisors and staff to institute loss prevention, loss control and corrective actions for unsafe and/or potentially unsafe acts, conditions or equipment. * Partner with Operations team(s) to develop and distribute communications addressing accidents, near misses, lessons learned and other EHS&S-related topics. * Assist and Support the Xylem Dewatering EHS team in the development and implementation of the appropriate EHS Management System procedures in order to align with Xylem expectations and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate the distribution and communication of applicable EHSMS elements at Regional Branches to support comprehension, implementation and accountability. * Assist and support the investigation of accidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions to aid in preventing recurrence of similar incidents in the future. * Participate in the Xylem Corporate EHS&S Audit Program to support ongoing compliance and management system audits at various operations and locations throughout Xylem. Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification: * 5+ years' experience working as a safety professional in an industrial or manufacturing environment. * 3+ years supervising direct reports * Construction experience preferred * Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) preferred * Federal OSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for general industry. * Federal MSHA and state-equivalent programs for occupational safety and health for surface and subsurface mines. * Federal DOT and state-equivalent programs for commercial fleet safety. * Federal EPA and state-equivalent programs for environmental protection. * Behavioral based safety concepts involving industrial and manufacturing processes. * Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word and Excel software.
