  • Assists in archiving digital computer records.

  • Cleans and disinfects equipment with appropriate solutions. Follows infection control policies.

  • Completes all types of neurodiagnostic tests.

  • Documents appropriate data in patient chart and lab files.

  • Evaluates need for use of sedation per physician written order for EEG patients and alerts nurse for administration of medicine.

  • Explains tests, procedures to patients in order to obtain optimal results.

  • May perform nerve conduction studies along with assisting physician during EMG procedure.

  • Notifies Neuroscience physician as needed for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.

  • Participates in recording of daily stats and record keeping.

  • Performs accurate documentation.

  • Performs all types of EEGs to include ambulatory, bedside, electrical cerebral silence and standard lab EEGs.

  • Prepares patients for examinations and procedures. Provides patient with instructions/explanations as needed. Understands and communicates based on age appropriate information.

  • Troubleshoots equipment, follows division policy to arrange repair service when indicated.

  • Collaborates with medical and nursing team to admit to EMU

  • Documents testing

  • Assists with archiving records

  • Cleans equipment and leads after testing is complete

The EEG Technologist provides findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures. Performs procedures appropriate to their competence and credentials held under general technical supervision.

VIEW JOBS 3/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-17T00:00 * Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions. * All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist. * Assists with inventory/supplies. * Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position. * Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc. * Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary. * Documents accurately and completely. * Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality. * Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist. * Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs. * Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures. * Administers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study.
