We are looking for an EEG Tech for PRN as needed candidates

POSITION SUMMARY: EEG technicians are trained to operate machines known as electroencephalographs. These are machines used to measure and record the electrical activity of brain waves via electrodes secured to the patients scalp. The EEG technician will use these tests to monitor patient brain activity and to help aid medical providers in diagnoses. The EEG technician will perform EEG test when requested by a physician. Communication between the EEG technician and the neurologist is mandatory for best patient outcomes.

Job Specific:

  • Performs PFTs and EEGs unassisted; notifying physicians as needed for abnormal studies

  • Reviews schedule daily and adjusts as needed

  • Able to calibrate and trouble shoot equipment needed to perform test

  • Follows infection control policy in regards to cleaning equipment and handling of patients

  • Reports monthly charges and billing for services in a timely manner

  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

High school diploma. Medical terminology required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • BLS AHA Healthcare Provider required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

  • Unit secretary skills preferred

  • Cardiac monitoring preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs

  • Basic computer skills
