Position Summary

The role of the EEG Tech reports to the Sleep Lab Manager. This position is responsible for performing Electroencephalography (EEG), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS), Long Term Monitoring (LTM), Intensive Care Unit Continuous EEG monitoring (ICU/cEEG).

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of test including ensuring all materials are available and assisting with electrode application

• Ensure patient safety during clinical testing

• Observe testing to record electrical activity emitting from the brain and input into the appropriate software

• Prepare data and documentation for interpretation by a physician

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, required.

• Licensure and Certifications: CPR, required. RST, RPSGT, or SDS, required.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years previous experience in EEG or a sleep lab, required.

Work Environment: This position will spend 60% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.

This position will spend 40% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position may be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
