Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.- 3 years of transportation wiring design and release experience or vehicle electrical system experience- Excellent communication skills that include writing, creation and presentation of management level high quality presentation materials and reports.- Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word in addition to G Suite Products.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • Training in DFMEA DVP&R and DFSS development tools and processes.

  • Working knowledge of CAD systems (NX, Catia).

  • Experience in high volume manufacturing facilities.

  • Familiarity with wiring harness drawings and specifications for automotive applications.

  • Web publishing and familiarity with SharePoint data management environments is desired.

Travel

  • Will be required to drive a company car.

  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.

  • Will be required to travel domestically and internationally 20-40%

Responsibilities- The Power and Signal Distribution (PASD) Release Engineer will be responsible for the design and release of wiring harness assemblies and related components.- The PASD Release Engineer will also coordinate drawing creation CAD release in Teamcenter with our Design Dept. and validation of released components in the vehicle and component environments.- Support manufacturing facilities for entire life cycle and manage a supplier engineering support team.- Manage large amounts of data and be very comfortable working in corporate computer systems.

The candidate must be DFSS driven in the design process and DVP driven in development and validation, and program timing driven release. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: * Select best-valued footprint/connector for corporate applications * Review and approve connector system related SCR (Supplier Change Request) * Create, release and maintain connector performance requirements * Review and approve connection DFMEA and DVPR's prior to EE PWB phase * Select all In-line connectors during pre-development phases for all new carlines * Review and approve all connector and terminal related DTCR's * Write and maintain the FCA component strategy * Support all quality related activities, including ECIMs, high insertion force, line down and capacity hold ups * Work with FCA ergonomics engineering team to resolve high insertion force issues * Maintain FCA preferred connector strategy; the preferred strategy is a select group of components based on the best-performance and best-valued FCA strategic components * Maintain FCA connector and terminal technical requirements using connector system evaluation plan * Work on new connector development (meets the footprint and complies with our technical, quality, delivery and business requirements) * Identify connector system related TCR opportunities * Review and approve deviations for components that do not meet FCA strategy or vehicle level requirements * Benchmarking industry wide connection systems to assure FCA is in step with latest supplier developments * Support FCA purchasing and SCIE teams Product Design and Engineering careers at FCA US offer the chance to drive innovation and embrace bold new challenges as a member of the team responsible for revolutionizing the automotive industry.
