JOB SUMMARY The Educator teaches designated educational program(s). Assist The Coordinators of Critical Care Staff Education and Critical Care Education and Outreach Coordinator with development and delivery of class education. Assist with class facilitation and implementation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Refer to requirements listed on job posting. Experience: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration:

BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in health care related field.Experience:

Three (3) years Critical Care experience.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of the learning process, specifically adult education.

Knowledge of teaching techniques and evidence of creativity; decision making and problem solving skills; audio-visual equipment and techniques.

Ability to develop and maintain open, positive, cooperative and collaborative working relationships with all course participants.

Ability to manage time wisely, organize and set priorities, meet deadlines and accept responsibilities.

Ability to present and evaluate educational programs.

Ability to positively represent the department within the St.

Lukes and to positively represent St.

Lukes within the community. Ability to foster positive relationships for St.

Lukes through education and networking.

Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written communications.

VIEW JOBS 10/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-16T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The Coordinator of Critical Care Staff Educator oversees the orientation process for all new hires and transfers in conjunction with the Managers, Clinical Supervisors and Staff Development Facilitators, and Preceptors of each critical care area (including, but not limited to: ICU, Cardiac Unit, Cath Lab, Radiology/ Procedure RNs, Critical Care Float Pool including CRNs, Respiratory Care, ED). Assists in assessing the educational needs of the Critical Care areas and facilitates annual needs assessment. Provides leadership in developing, planning and implementing education for critical care staff. Acts as a resource for new staff. Provides co-leadership and guides the monthly SDF meeting. Mentors and assists staff development facilitators in assessing educational needs, developing unit based nursing competencies, reviewing certification classes and guiding employees through the self-registration process for initial certification classes. Creates, modifies, and facilitates the critical care early hire program. Collaborates with Nursing Leadership in the development of critical care policies/procedures, implementation of new equipment, in-services and education. Works with Nursing Leadership to plan, schedule, and coordinate nursing mandatory education sessions. Meets quarterly or more often if needed, with the Critical Care Leadership Group to set goals, review progress and plan for future educational needs. Facilitates educational review process for LMS/NetLearning course development and assignment process. Serves as an instructor for portions of the skills lab as needed.
