Job Description:

Assist with trans-creating English course content to Spanish

  • Guide the translation process by providing resources from the field that are available in Spanish to ensure consistency

  • Research Spanish reference materials

  • Refer to other ELFL courses that have been translated in Spanish to ensure consistency within and across courses

  • Work with tech team to translate or review/edit translated directions or functions within the Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Review/edit course materials and resources that have been translated to ensure they are grammatically correct; vocabulary used for course content is consistent with the language in the field and incorporated within other Early Learning Florida courses; and to incorporate any course improvements that have been identified by instructors and/or practitioners

  • Review/edit course content and materials both video and non-video; closed captioning files; and Interactive Media Elements

  • Work with Voiceover company to guide the work needed to translate videos into Spanish

Course production

  • Review and edit content of Early Learning Florida Spanish/English courses in accordance with the Early Learning Florida template and course specifications

  • Review and edit Spanish/English course content for grammatical and technical errors (in script, videos, and on LMS)

  • Review, revise, and format Spanish/English course resources

  • Review, revise, and format Spanish/English transcripts

  • Assist in assuring that Early Learning Florida Spanish/English course content is aligned with Florida Practitioner Competencies and Standards

  • Organize course materials on Box

  • Participate in content review meetings to discuss progress and alignment of material being reviewed and edited

Coordination of filming for ELFL courses

  • Assist in locating and producing appropriate video resources for Early Learning Florida Spanish/English courses

  • Contact centers and Family Child Care Homes to schedule filming

  • Organize consents for filming in accordance with ELFL procedures

  • Assist with tagging videos

Participate as an active member of the Early Learning Florida team

  • Attend meetings and focus groups around the state (as needed)

  • Maintain daily communication with the Content Development Manager

  • Additional duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi-literate English/Spanish

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or appropriate area of specialization

  • Strong background in early learning teaching experience and directing of child care center preferred

  • Strong research, editing, and writing skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Evidence of ability and willingness to work collaboratively and with a commitment to collegiality

This position provides high-level expertise for complex transactions, and facilitates advances in service delivery and efficiency. The incumbent uses independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to coordinate a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. S/he serves departments by providing support in monitoring, processing, reviewing, and approving transactional activities relating to fiscal processes. The incumbent provides excellent customer service to internal and external clients and when representing the University of Florida (UF). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Processes, reviews, and approves transactions in the Shared Services Center. Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and approving transactions submitted in myUFL by the Business Administration Specialist I and/or the unit client. Processes more complex transactions in myUFL; and may approve and/or reconcile other various transactions in myUFL. Takes an active leadership role in assisting department staff in identifying appropriate methods for resolving department needs. * Reviews and prepares vouchers and journal entries for accuracy. * Approves Pcard transactions, reconciling as appropriate. * Processes and provides oversight for travel authorization, expense reports, and cash advances. * Processes domestic honoraria. * Processes purchase orders and approves orders within myUF Market. Responsible for assisting or filling in for SSC Specialists for fiscal services as needed to cover for other team members' absences and/or increased volume to insure seamless continuity of service to customers. Provides coverage at off-site SSC location as needed. Depending upon the customer's area of need, works with customer's management to initiate transactions and/or assist faculty and staff. Analyzes processes. Monitors and reviews all processes with the SSC team and initiates modifications as appropriate. Researches operational problems and errors and recommends/implements solutions in a timely manner. Actively addresses issues and presents customer feedback to Shared Services Center team. Works with SSC team members to keep abreast of regulatory, compliance, process, enterprise system upgrades and technology changes. Interprets federal and state financial laws; UF policies, procedures, and regulations; and college policies relating to fiscal transactions. Maintains effective business relationships with college and university core offices. Serves as liaison between the unit and Procurement, Disbursement Services, General Accounting, and other core offices as appropriate. As needed, attends college and university meetings for management personnel to ensure the Department's understanding of and compliance with rules and regulations. Guides Unit Managers on policies and procedures for fiscal transactions within the department. Responsible for training unit staff.
