Job Description:

The Education and Training Specialist II serves as a professional level clinician to conduct and interpret developmental evaluations and assessment activities with children and their families. The ETS II works with a multidisciplinary team to develop and monitor plans as needed. This position provides case coordination for special needs children and their families. The individual in this position will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with families, co-workers, schools and community agencies. This position will apply sound principles of data-based decision making to all aspects of practice, demonstrate sensitivity and skills needed to work with families, children and staff from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ability to drive to satellite clinics, provide trainings and support groups to the community. Provides internal trainings to the staff and participates in multidisciplinary assessments and team integration meetings.

  • Provides case coordination for special needs children and their families/care providers.

  • Coordinates client services and referrals to community agencies.

  • Designs, develops and delivers high quality training programs and support groups, applying best practice models, to families and professionals within our catchment area.

  • Reviews and interprets evaluation and assessment results provided and maintains appropriate records consistent with program requirements.

  • Provides coaching to families and care providers on strategies and techniques needed for the special needs child/family in order to meet outcomes.

  • Provides appropriate developmental outcomes and strategies for families and/or professionals working with assigned family.

  • Consults with other team members and community providers to ensure continuity of care.

  • Provides home and school observations, as needed, for families.

  • Attends weekly clinical staffing providing input regarding patient case management needs. Attends other divisional meetings, as required.

Expected Salary: $61,000 to $65,000 annually depending on education and experience. Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in special education or closely related degree; BCABA or BCBA preferred.

  • Experience providing trainings and support groups preferred.

  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Organize, schedule, and create teaching assistant development materials and events to support online and face-to-face teaching. <br><br> Presents and facilitates workshops on an ongoing basis to help graduate students and teaching assistants maximize teaching expertise and cultivate new strengths. Develop and design learning aids including, but not limited to, instructional guides and web content to assist in the transfer of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Evaluates the effectiveness of training materials to ensure objectives are accomplished.</li></ul><p>Initiatives include but are not limited to peer review of teaching, TA training programs and conferences and workshop series.</p><ul><li>Conduct and manage quality assurance activities such as UF's Quality Matters-based course review process. Apply personal teaching experience in both online and face-to-face modalities to the review of course design and teaching practices. Provide quality feedback supporting teaching improvement to course instructors and designers.</li></ul><p>Provide research and recommendations to support adoption and revision of guidelines. Supports and delivers training geared towards implementation of quality teaching practices for online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses. Identifies and evaluates emerging tools and techniques useful in the teaching/learning space.</p><ul><li><p>Assists with the development and implementation of the campus student course evaluation system for academic programs, departments, or similar units. Develops training and workshops for faculty, staff, and students. <br><br> Coordinates with third party vendor on the ongoing support of the new evaluation system each term. Collaborates with UFIT staff on the integration of the evaluation system into Canvas and the university's new SIS. Provides faculty with feedback on how to utilize the results of student evaluations for course improvement and to enhance student engagement.</p></li><li><p>Other Duties as assigned</p></li></ul><p>Expected Salary:</p><p>$60,000-$70,000</p><p>Minimum Requirements:</p><p>Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>Minimum Qualifications plus expertise in the creation of learning materials using the Adobe suite.</p><p>Quality Matters APPQMR reviewer certification is preferred.</p><p>Ph.
