TITLE: Educational Technology and Media Specialist (Grades 5-12)
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Knowledge and training in instructional technology skills including productivity tools to support the curriculum
2.Knowledge of effective methods of technology integration
3.Strong skills in hardware and software problem-solving
4.Master's degree in Instructional Technology
5.Massachusetts certification in Instructional Technology
6.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
7.Experience integrating technology in the classroom
8.Demonstrated proficiency in using a variety of educational technology tools and platforms
9.Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional design principles, and pedagogical best practices
10. Ability to adapt to changing technologies and educational trends
11. Experience providing professional development and training to educators
12. Familiarity with educational software, learning management systems, and multimedia production tools
REPORTS TO:
Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Medway High School Principal, Medway Middle School Principal
JOB GOAL:
To support and assist staff members in the use of instructional technology in the classroom and to enhance the library media center's role in student learning and literacy.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Works directly with staff members to support the use and integration of technology in the classroom
2.Collaborates with instructional staff, library media staff, and administration to develop lessons and units that utilize instructional technology
3.Supports teachers as they integrate higher-level problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills in lesson design through the use of appropriate technology
4.Works with staff members to differentiate instruction through the use of technology
5.Develop and implement programs to promote media literacy and responsible digital citizenship among students
6.Provide guidance on critical thinking skills related to media consumption and digital content creation
7.Collaborate with school counselors and administrators to address issues related to online safety and cyberbullying
8.Collaboration and Communication:
9.Foster partnerships with parents, community members, and external organizations to support technology integration initiatives
10. Communicate regularly with stakeholders about the goals, progress, and impact of technology integration efforts
11. Collaborate with district-wide committees and initiatives related to educational technology and media
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work year and salary in accordance with the current Medway Federation of Teachers (Unit A) contract.
