Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. *Develops, plans, coordinates, schedules and implements tasks to produce, promote

and support UH Manoa Summer Sessions activities, programs and events. Revises

schedules as new initiatives are introduced.

  1. *Responsible for a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to, marketing and

promotion, website updates, data analysis, program implementation, assessment and

expansion.

  1. *Administers annual student and instructor surveys, and analyzes responses, and use

findings to develop and implement changes to improve summer sessions and assess

impact.

  1. Analyzes data and produces reports on all Summer Sessions activities including but

not limited to summer enrollment, summer financial information, summer event

participation and campus activities.

  1. *Participates in the long-term assessment, planning and development of UH Manoa

Summer Sessions. Conducts market research and analysis to identify new markets,

increase summer enrollments and create a sustainable self-supporting UH Manoa

Summer Sessions program.

  1. *Independently authors both written and oral reports for presentation to Outreach

College management and other personnel within the university community.

  1. *Develops and improves operational and administrative procedures to ensure UH

Manoa's Summer Sessions program operates efficiently and effectively.

  1. *Resolves operational and administrative matters related to UH Manoa's Summer

Sessions program in accordance with UH policies, procedures and directives.

  1. Coordinates and develops the Sakamaki Extraordinary Lecture Series, to include

program promotion and special event coordination during evenings and weekends.

    • Supports the UH Manoa Summer Scholar Program and the Early Start Program,

manages applications, administers scholarships and supports program marketing and

recruitment.

    • Supports credit and non-credit courses and programs that are designed for

precollege students.

  1. *Coordinates annual training/informational sessions for UH Manoa advisors and

department personnel that participate in Summer Sessions.

  1. Administers procurement policies and procedures and assists departments with

related expenses while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws,

University policies, procedures, rules, regulations and practices.

  1. Supervises casual hire and student assistant positions.

    • Travels independently to various locations to support summer programs.
    • Work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or

holidays as needed.

  1. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in arts, social science, arts and humanities,

science, education, business, or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively

responsible professional experience with responsibilities for program implementation,

support and evaluation; or any equivalent combination of education and/or

professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge,

skills and abilities as indicated.

  1. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area

of program development as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of

pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.

  1. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state

laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with higher education.

  1. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of

creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and

the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.

  1. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and

accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.

  1. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with

internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and

individuals.

  1. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software,

and use spreadsheet software.

  1. If applicable, for supervisor work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage

work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.

  1. Demonstrated ability in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data to make informed

recommendations.

  1. Demonstrated ability in developing comprehensive reports to evaluate programs.

  2. Able to travel independently to various locations in a timely manner. Fulfilled by

possession of a valid State of Hawaii Driver's License (class 3), valid comparable

driver's license, or use of other means of transportation which meets position needs.

  1. Ability to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends,

and/or holidays as needed.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience and familiarity with one or more of the following: Kuali Financial System

(KFS), SCT Banner Student Information System, Coursedog Scheduling System,

Destiny One, ReportServer, SAP Concur or Centersuite.

  1. Experience maintaining and updating databases to ensure data integrity.

  2. Experience in producing and reviewing financial reports including detailed revenue

and expenses.

  1. Experience in presenting program information to a variety of audiences such as

student groups, administrative offices and the general public.
