Requirements / Qualifications

THE POSITION: The job of Educational Liaison is done for the purpose/s of assisting at risk youth including homeless, foster, and/or incarcerated student's placements through case management; providing or arranging for the referral to tutoring, school transition/placement, special education, and other academic support services; and establishing collaborative relationships with local advisory groups and agencies and districts.

This job reports to Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave.

Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: Analyzes records of students for the purpose of determining appropriate student placement and needs for services. Collaborates with a variety of internal and external individuals (e.g.

Foster-Youth Services staff and homeless liaison, school district personnel, child welfare workers, etc.) for the purpose of providing and/or acquiring accurate and up-to-date information concerning individual students' academics support services. Conducts a variety of supporting activities (e.g. student interviews, court attendance, attend IEP meetings, etc.) for the purpose of providing information regarding student assessment results and individual student work plans. Coordinates student team (e.g. tutorial support, IEP meeting attendance, school staff consultations, court proceedings attendance, etc.) for the purpose of supporting youth.

Facilitates intervention protocols for identified foster youth students (e.g. regular student attendance, transitioning from one placement to another, etc.) for the purpose of identifying support resources, enhancing coping skills and providing referrals. PLEASE NOTE: The start date for this position will be August 2024 in alignment with the start of the new school year.

Exact date TBD. This is an 11 month, 230 day position. Calendar will be provided upon hiring.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Two (2) years of experience working with youth in a formal, professional setting. Prior experience working with youth with learning disabilities and/or at-risk student populations; Conflict Resolution training desired.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Human Development, or related preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience. APPLICATION DEADLINE:
