Educational Leadership: Assistant/Associate Professor to teach and supervise student research in educational policy in both undergraduate and graduate programs; maintain an active research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.
Appointment begins with the 2019-20 academic year.
Require: Ph.D.
or Ed.D.
in Educational Policy or closely related field by date of appointment; evidence of excellence in teaching; evidence of established (for associate rank) or emerging (for assistant rank) record of research publication.
Consideration may be given to candidates whose research is centered in questions of equity and social justice issues in schools or other educational contexts; to candidates who have knowledge or expertise related to comparative or international education; or to candidates who have experience with distance learning and online formats.
This position has the potential to be part of a cluster or cohort hire of faculty in The College of Education, Health and Society for successful diverse candidates whose critical research, teaching and/or service connects to a theme of promoting Socially Just Communities (e.g., participatory community research, mutually beneficial university-community partnerships including community engagement, service learning, and collaborations with clinical/practice courses/training) consistent with our Initiative for Community Justice and Wellbeing.

The College of Creative Arts, one of the University's five academic divisions, includes five departments: Architecture/Interior Design, Art, Music, and Theater. IMS is an innovative degree-granting program driven by emerging interactive technologies and a cohort of collaborative faculty who build "horizontal" curriculum and research across campus. As a member of CCA and IMS, this position offers the opportunity to forge innovative partnerships. Located in Oxford, Ohio, within an hour of both Cincinnati and Dayton, Miami – among the nation's top public universities – is a selective, mid-sized public university that combines the academic and cultural benefits of a large university with the values of a small liberal arts college. Duties/Physical Demands: Teach courses in user experience, advise students and provide service to the university. Assistant Professor is also expected to maintain an active research and/or creative program. Faculty in Interactive Media Studies are involved in interdisciplinary faculty research; facilitate graduate/undergraduate research projects; lead client-based projects; help lead co-curricular activities and student organizations. Interactive Media Studies also houses the Center for Research in user Experience (CRUX) that uses a wide range of technologies, including eye tracking, galvanic skin response and facial expression analysis to better understand how users interact with screen-based stimuli and images. Minimum Qualifications: Require: For appointment as Assistant Professor: PhD in any human-computer interaction field or MFA in design, user-experience or related field by date of appointment.
