Description

This position is responsible for facilitating communication between the hearing impaired students, the educational staff and hearing peers in the educational environment including services of school related activities: academic, non-academic and extracurricular for students as appropriate. This position will interpret regular and special education classes for grades K-12, as assigned. The interpreter will use PSE or ASL to match student's skill level and collaborate with and assist Teacher of the Hearing Impaired Support classroom, ensuring the continuance of the education program developed by the teacher and providing access to our hearing impaired students.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma/GED required

  • Must have a passing score of at least 3.5 on the EIPA

Terms of Employment

Part-time, 20 hrs/week - All day Monday & Tuesday (7 hrs/day), plus 6 flexible hours (hours can be split across other days)

Salary

Interpreter pay schedule (min. $24.21 per hour), depending on education and experience, plus benefits
