Educational Associate/Paraprofessional

Winnacunnet Cooperative High School is seeking a qualified candidate for an Educational Associate position. This position works under the direction of the teachers to offer support to individual students and to students in their assigned classrooms. Pay commensurate with experience, up to $19.41 an hour.

The special education educational associate/paraprofessional assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities, supporting students with specialized needs, including those that are physical, and/or emotional. The ideal candidate supports inclusive practices and is an advocate for all students by affirming their abilities and striving to promote dignity in all relationships.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred.

Experience:

Previous experience in working with children, specifically with disabilities, preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist students in achieving academic success

• Support students who may require emotional regulation

• Provide behavior support (training provided)

• Support social integration

• Consult and collaborate with Special Education and Regular Education

Educators as well as related service providers

• Assist students with physical elements of hygiene and grooming

• Assist students with daily transitions (e.g., transition between tasks and/or rooms, lunch,

playground, etc.)
