Educational Associate - Security Monitor

Looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of students? South View Middle School is seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Security Monitor.

Security monitors play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Responsibilities include;

• monitoring school premises,
• supervising students during arrival, dismissal, passing times, and lunch (as well as traffic directing duties before and after school)
• enforcing school policies,
• and responding to any security incidents or emergencies.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed. Previous experience in security or law enforcement is helpful but not required.

POSITION: Security Monitor Paraprofessional LOCATION:

South View Middle School HOURS PER DAY: 6.75 hours/day DAILY SCHEDULE: 9 am - 4:15 pm, M-F DAYS PER YEAR: 170 (9 month position) RATE OF PAY: This position has a starting hourly rate of $19.00 /hour BENEFITS: Pursuant to the Minnesota School Employees' Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement CLOSING DATE: Open until filled QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED :

Required:

• Associate's Degree or at least two years of post-secondary education (a minimum of 60 semester credits)

Preferred:

• Experience working with students

• Experience working with diverse student populations

• Strong communication skills
