Position Summary

Hours: 12:45 - 4:30 Part-TIme

Days: Student Contact Days

Compensation / Benefits: Per Unit Agreement

Summary:
To assist school staff and administration in implementing all policies/rules governing student conduct, reinforce individual school's plan for positive behavior support, support PBIS expectations building wide, and use effective, proactive behavior management skills in all school settings, focused on Kindergarten. This position will also include active supervision in the cafeteria and/or the playground.

Description:

Job duties may include, but are not limited to

  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce social skill concepts.

  • Participates in developing and implementing behavior management plan for individual students.

  • Demonstrates professional relationships with staff,student and families

  • Assists in conducting anecdotal observations and individualized child planning/goals.

  • Maintains positive guidance techniques with children.

  • Meet with PBIS team and assist with data for meetings.

  • Assist teachers in correct implementation plans and reinforcement of student behavior.

  • Model and teach respect with an awareness of diversity of cultures and backgrounds.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with diverse student, staff and community populations

  • Maintain confidential student data. Avoid discussing other staff members or student discipline with anyone except referring and/or homeroom teacher, principals, social worker, etc.

  • Be prepared to support referring staff about appropriateness of referrals, major and minor.

  • Perform such other duties as assigned by principal.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have: * knowledge of behavior modification theory/techniques sufficient to design and/or implement behavior management components of treatment plans; * knowledge of developmental disabilities and behavior problems sufficient to understand the physical and psychological limitations they put on human development; * ability to read and write English sufficient to understand and follow directions, assist in the delivery of client programs, and write instructions for subordinate staff; * ability to collect and summarize data sufficient to document program delivery and client progress by observing and charting behaviors and measuring the duration and frequency of inappropriate behavior; * knowledge of therapeutic intervention techniques sufficient to control aggressive or violent behavior * ability to provide ongoing work direction and training to other staff; * ability to perform basic health care procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medications. * Must pass background check. * Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License * Must pass medication administration certification. * Must be able to perform all physical/essential requirements with our without reasonable accommodation. * Must pass all other required training.
