Position Title Education - Student Teacher Supervisor Position Summary
The Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education is accepting applications for Adjunct Student Teacher Supervisor positions. The CBU School of Education prepares teacher leaders - individuals of high moral character and ethical behavior who are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to create lifelong learners throughout the world. We have partnerships with schools and districts throughout Southern California. We prepare educators to serve in a variety of roles and support teacher candidates in their final practicum.
Pay Range Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree and a current California teaching credential (Multiple-subjects, Single-subject, PK/TK, administrative and/or Education Specialist); a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with diverse student populations in a K-12 public school system; mentoring, coaching, or supervising teachers; knowledge of current California Common Core Standards; knowledge of how to support diversity in society and current context of public schools.
Additional qualifications include exceptional communication and networking skills; proficiency in Office software applications; demonstrated teaching success with diverse student populations; demonstration of effective professional practices in teaching and learning, scholarship and service; experience in supervising or mentoring pre-service teachers; knowledge of and experience in current education reform efforts, such as Common Core Standards in Mathematics, Common Core Standards in Literacy in Science, Next Generation Science Standards and English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework; and, knowledge of and experience in teacher performance assessment (edTPA); experience with integrating technology in classroom curriculum; and, experience with developing and maintaining relationships with schools and districts in the Inland region.
Teaching Responsibilities
Our Student Teacher Supervisors provide weekly observation and mentoring to our candidates over the 16 - week student teacher placement. In addition, supervisors attend seminars for candidates and facilitate a weekly professional learning community. Supervisors serve as the primary liaison between the School of Education and the site mentor teacher and provide the evaluation for the student teacher candidate.
Supervisors are expected to provide high-quality instruction, mentorship, and supervision to a cohort of pre-service and/or intern teachers according to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and program requirements; assist in program events, training, and meetings; and, complete program reports and required documentation according to deadlines.
