Job Summary
Job Summary
Manhattan Beach Wellness Program (MWell) is a Mira Costa High School (MCHS) Special Education Program that follows an alternative educational model, located on the Pacific Elementary School campus. It is a self-contained therapeutic classroom program designed to support students with a current IEP exhibiting internalizing behavior (i.e. depression, anxiety, school refusal) and features one Special Education instructor, one therapist, two Instructional Assistants, and part-time Behaviorist support. Generally, the student maximum is 12. The MWELL instructor collaborates with a full - time counselor (and other staff per a child's IEP) to facilitate students' social emotional growth in order for them to achieve academic success and be prepared to graduate with a MCHS diploma. MWell students participate in the culture and events of Mira Costa when desired and appropriate with a goal of eventual transition to full- time attendance at Mira Costa.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Possession of a valid Education Specialist Instruction credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities with an English Learner Authorization issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.
