PURPOSE OF POSITION: Determines how workplace learning & performance improvement can best be implemented; leads in the planning & delivery of learning & performance improvement strategies that support the organization's strategic direction & that are based on a needs assessment. Incorporates a working knowledge of adult learning theory in the delivery of content to target audiences. Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to increase learners' receptivity to and application of learning content.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate with inter-professional faculty to develop and modify simulation based curriculum and scenarios to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.

Coordinate scheduling simulation based learning activities with multiple content experts.

Serve as the lead facilitator for simulation-based experiences/activities guiding, supporting, and seeking out ways to assist participants in achieving expected outcomes and course objectives.

Design, implement, and participate, in research based simulation curriculum.

Facilitate the adult learning process that creates a safe non-threatening learning environment that supports learning across the health care continuum including, adjusting content and teaching strategies appropriate for the learners' needs.

Supervise simulation based learning activities, providing oversight and feedback to ensure quality.

Plan, prepares, and maintains materials for use in simulation programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience including developing and updating educational and training materials.

Maintainproficiency in existing and emerging simulation technologies through learningand development, education and research activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor of Education OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 3 years related experience

Responsibilities include collection and validation of accurate patient demographic and insurance information, obtaining pre-certification/authorization, scheduling the patient for outpatient and inpatient services, and entering information into multiple outpatient and inpatient systems. Other responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison with the patient, physician and hospital related to financial aspect of services. Ensures that all pre-operative requirements have been completed, including scheduling surgeries, pre-admission testing, scheduling for outside medical evaluations related to surgery, and pre-operative teaching classes. Initiates the insurance verification and pre-authorization process by contacting insurance carriers and providing proof of needed documentation. Works closely with involved providers to pre-certify procedures and other necessary evaluations or processes; assists with denial and appeal process. Reviews benefits, cost and coverage with patients and assesses their potential financial liability, and answers applicable questions. Completes all documentation for processes for both outpatient and inpatient services. Proactively communicates issues or potential issues involving customer service and process improvement opportunities to management and providers. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others for concise and timely flow of information. Maintains stable performance under pressure and handles stress in ways to maintain relationships with patients, customers and co-workers. Required minimum education: High school diploma or GED Experience: two years of experience in a similar health care role. ct of services.
