The Claremont Unified School District is located in Southern California approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles. The community is known for the Claremont Colleges and has a strong working relationship with these institutions. Currently, the District has over 7,000 students in its K-12 program and runs an extensive Adult School program. There are seven unique elementary schools, all have been designated by the State of California as Distinguished Schools, a school for the orthopedically handicapped, an intermediate school, a comprehensive high school, and a continuation school.
