Job Goal:

Support identified campuses in School Improvement and through turnaround efforts. Assist campus leadership teams through professional development, observation, coaching, and feedback to meet the needs of campuses, districts, and campus administrators in support of the ESC's core purpose and strategic goals.

Qualifications:

Education

Master's degree

Certification

  • Texas Educator Certificate

  • Principal Certificate

Experience

  • Three years of experience in campus administration as an assistant principal and/or principal or three years of district-level leadership experience

  • Five years of teaching experience in a traditional district/charter school

  • Experience in developing and presenting professional development

Special Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated success in leading major district/campus improvement initiatives

  • Ability to analyze complex datasets to inform decision-making

  • Broad-base knowledge of effective campus practices in instructional leadership, staff and student culture, well-supported teachers, high-quality curriculum, and data-driven instruction Exemplary written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated skill in motivating and influencing others towards outcomes through the use of effective coaching

Preferred Qualifications

  • T-TESS certification
  • AEL certification
  • T-PESS certification

Major Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Region 4 philosophy of school improvement internally and externally.

  • Support identified campuses with development, implementation, and monitoring of targeted improvement plans and turnaround plans aligned to the Effective Schools Framework.

  • Develop tools and resources to support school improvement.

  • Provide technical assistance and customized services.

  • Provide leadership in planning, developing, and implementing campus and district improvement plans.

  • Collaborate with team members in the planning of grant activities to meet the school improvement needs of campuses and districts.

  • Develop, present, and facilitate professional development related to the Effective Schools Framework, leadership, and continuous improvement.

  • Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility.

  • Set goals, develop, and meet timelines with a high degree of personal accountability.

  • Participate in state-level functions related to area(s) of responsibility.

  • Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that funds this position.

  • Participate in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to monitor impact and adapt plans and services for the advancement of the service center's mission, vision, and goals.

Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.
