Salary: This is a full-time, (12) twelve-month position for 232 days with an annaul salary in the range of $70,739.00 to $87,890.00. This is a grant funded position and continued employment is contingent upon grant renewal.

Job Summary (Primary Purpose):

Provide training and technical assistance to ESC Region 13 clients for the development and implementation of programs to improve the performance of children with disabilities 3-5 and engage with community organizations to share resources and information for families. Have an instrumental role in researching, creating, developing, and launching new products and services to meet the needs of clients. Create and help streamline processes for the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates):

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Texas Certification in Special Education

  • Texas Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education (General Ed)

  • At least three years' classroom experience in Early Childhood Education

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates):

  • Master's degree in Education or related field

  • Recent experience, three (3) years minimum, working in a LEA in Early Childhood Special Education

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines for Early Childhood Education

  • General/Working knowledge of current curriculum trends, instruction, technology, assessment and school systems

  • General/Working Knowledge of best practice in English as a Second Language (e.g., Sheltered Instruction) and the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS)

  • General/Working knowledge of instructional design, current curriculum trends, instruction, technology, assessment, project-based learning, and differentiation

  • Familiarity with Response to Intervention and progress monitoring

  • General/Working knowledge of data-driven strategies for improving student

  • Ability to research and apply results in a client-centered way

  • Ability to identify, define, and describe a coaching model

  • Ability to explain different types of instructional coaching

  • Successful completion and working knowledge of the following: Jim Knight Institute, Achievement Teams Conference, and the Virtual Learning and Coaching Program

  • Certified trainer in CIRCLE (intervention support for Early Childhood Educators)

  • Understand the needs of the team and seek solutions to improve through conversations, marketing, and collaboration across teams

  • General/Working knowledge of platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and virtual learning platforms

Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public

  • Provide technical assistance to Region 13 clients in the area of Early Childhood

  • Collaborate with and actively participate with ESC teams to improve student performance and to meet the established goals and objectives of the ESC and TEA

  • Develop and conduct presentations and training to include alternate delivery models for small and large groups; contract and negotiate with outside consultants regarding needed training, develop needed resource materials related to EC

  • Develop, manage, and evaluate program plans and budgets; conduct project evaluation activities using appropriate data collection and analysis procedures

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Handle numerous daily tasks with a minimum of time and supervision, and work with detailed assignments

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Budget Responsibilities:

Manage funds related to activity plans and monitor expenses and expected revenue

Equipment Used:

  • Proficiency with PC computers to include desktop management, operations, and working on a network environment

  • Proficiency with standard functions of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Proficiency with Canvas LMS, multimedia and editing software for the development of online courses and resources

  • Other equipment such as: Smart Board, Smart Slate, or other interactive board devices; Clickers; iPods/iPads; Chrome books

  • General office equipment to include copiers, printers, and video-conferencing equipment
