Provide instruction, assessment, and program planning for special education students with deafness, hearing impairment and/or deaf-blindness individually and in small groups in accordance with policies and procedures aligned with IDEA and state regulations; develop and implement IEP goals; monitor and evaluate student progress and behavior; research, obtain and provide instructional materials for special education services; serve as an informational resource for students, parents, district personnel and community organizations.

This position is with Tri-City SELPA (servicing Culver City USD, Santa Monica/Malibu USD, Beverly Hills USD.-Possession of a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).-Must have a valid California Class C Driver's License. Must be insurable by the District liability insurance carrier.-Certified as an Auditory-Verbal Therapist or willing to be certified is preferred. English Language Authorization is preferred or eligible to apply for permit.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.

  • Credential Copy (If currently in an Intern Program please attach a letter from the program.)

  • Letter of Introduction (Indicating (a) reason for interest in the position; and (b) a description of qualifications, training and experience relating to the unique needs of this position)

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three letters preferably written within the last two yrs.)

  • Resume

  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST, CSET, MSAT or Praxis testing results)
