Job Summary: Responsible for the instructional delivery of assigned educational programs(s), specifically General Motors Industry training. Monitors the overall operations including development, implementation, and evaluation of various assigned programs and makes revisions as required. Possesses the ability to teach program content.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and 5 years experience*

  • or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements: Industry Certification(s), including General Motors (GM) Technician training.

Valid Driver's license.

PA Act 15 Clearances

As a requirement for this position, you are expected to provide current copies of the following: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check prior to your first day of employment. These must have been obtained within the last 60 months and for the purpose of employment (not volunteer). You may submit current copies of your clearances to the Office of Human Resources at the time an offer of employment is made.

Hiring Range: $48,182 - $60,227

Preferred Qualifications: GM Master or World-Class Technician certified. PA State Vehicle Safety and Emissions Inspection licenses.

Job Specific Task List:

Essential

  • Instructs students in assigned area; selects, develops and delivers curriculum, including lectures, discussion, quizzes, and exams to meet established guidelines.

  • Reviews curricula to ensure compliance with industry standards and/or accrediting bodies and makes necessary revisions.

  • Monitors proper use and care of equipment during training.

  • Develops, implements, and managers curricula regardless of delivery mode.

Standard

  • Prepare course and lab materials for training in assigned area. - review and maintain course content, assuring compliance with HACC standards and policy.
  • Monitors proper use and care of the equipment during training.

  • Gathers student information at the beginning/end of class including: OEF's, student release forms; permission for photography forms; program specific information.

  • Course/Instructor Evaluations.

  • Instructs students in assigned area; selects, develops, and delivers curriculum, including lectures, discussion, quizzes, and exams to meet established guidelines.

  • Prepares course and laboratory materials; ensures content of material is relevant, and monitors proper use of care of equipment during lab exercises.

  • Assist with coordinating department activities, such as: - maintaining records - communication with staff - researching information -providing support to the coordinator - staff meeting -problem solving -special events scheduling classes

  • Coordinates and participates in counseling and advising sessions with students including job searches; may maintain regular office hours. - provide support to ASEP and Automotive Technology programs.

  • Maintains equipment and supplies; organizes, orders materials, and arranges for repair of equipment as needed.

  • Fuels all equipment or directs other instructors to do so.

  • Performs lift inspections to ensure safe lift operations.

  • Update vehicle usage logs.

  • Participates in continuing education and professional development courses as assigned.

  • Serves on various committees and makes recommendations on college policies and procedures.

  • Performs needs assessment to workforce clients: Designs, delivers, evaluates and reports assessment results.

  • Customizes curriculum for workforce clients.

  • Responsible for transport of equipment and supplies for workforce offsite training.

  • Provides support for the College Mission and Strategic Plan by: serving on various non-credit committees; work with industry roundtables and advisory boards to align curriculum with community and industry needs such as: - NATEF certification requirements.

  • Serve on ASEP and Automotive advisory committees.
  • Continue training to remain current with technology and industry needs - including 100% certification in all GM training areas.
  • GM Specific Tasks
  • Promote GM training and GM ASEP through various GM Service club meetings and ACDelco meetings.

  • Update GM dealers as to the training requirements on a bi-monthly basis.

  • Provide feedback for errors discovered in GM Service Information.

  • Provide GM course feedback to regional training manager for errors discovered in GM courses.

  • College-related travel is required, as necessary.

  • Performs other duties as described.
