Is responsible for administering assigned courses, ensuring they are entered into LMS, marketed, and managed, maintaining contact with instructor and staff to ensure successful program. Ensures that attendance and CEUs are correctly tracked.
Evaluates education projects and makes changes to meet the learners' needs and satisfaction.
Identifies organizational issues which impact or can be addressed by the department
Supports administrative requirements reguarding monthly productivity reports, budget maintenance, and quality initiatives.
Assists with Patient Care Orientation, Preceptor program, Nurse Residency Program, Unit Educator program and other programs as needed.
Participates in research projects as developed in department.
Identifies and evaluates appropriate learning solutions. Investigates and assesses needs and requests for educational programs. Designs or selects instructional materials & design.
Implements learning solutions. Each program is expect to average no less than 4.6 on a 5.0 evaluation scale.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities of an Education Specialist as assigned by Manager and/or Director.
Consults when asked by managers on staff performance issues and provides timely feedback.
Consults with instructional design experts on customized solutions. Delivers and evaluates solutions making necessary adjustments to content and/or delivery mechanism.
Bases educational standards of practice on the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development and other applicable evidence-based practice.
Performs needs assessments and identifies practice gaps
Designs and delivers education sessions
Evaluates learner response and outcomes to patient care
Facilitates training on new products, policies, and practices
Supports onboarding for new clinical hires
Rounds on staff to support transitions to practice, competency completion, and retention
The Education Specialist II ' Nursing develops, designs, delivers and evaluates clinical education programs that are learner-focused, accessible and linked to the organization's strategic goals. Responsibilities include conducting training needs analysis, working with subject matter experts to design content in a variety of modalities, and facilitating training in the Patient Care Division. Operates as an educator, facilitator, and change agent. Coordinates and delivers education programs of various size and complexity which require the development of project plans including timelines, resource requirements, and budgetary compliance. Recommends appropriate instructional design based on specific training and learner needs. Develops and implements methods to evaluate programs and courses. Designs and reviews methods to measure quality and effectiveness of programs and instructional techniques. Analyzes data from evaluations and identifies methods to improve programs which result in improved learner satisfaction and program outcomes. Collaborates with department leadership and staff in a variety of areas to facilitate the development of education solutions that help the organization achieve its strategic priorities. Assist with a variety of clinical education programs including Nursing Orientation, Preceptor classes, Health care orientation, unit assistant training, unit educator mentorships, Residency classes, and other programs developed by this department.
