Job Summary:

The Education Director position at NY Kids Club & NY Preschool is a pivotal leadership role focused on developing educators, ensuring impeccable customer service, and contributing to the overall success of our programs. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Education Director is responsible for supporting teachers with curriculum implementation, conducting tours for prospective families, answering enrollment questions, and collaborating with the Head of School on administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, enrollment management, and compliance checks.

This position is eligible for monthly, quarterly and annual bonuses.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the Head of School for designated locations, plan class offerings, schedule flow, and transition times. Support in creating semester scheduling, class offerings, and program development.

  • Multiple site oversight of program quality for preschool and enrichment programs.

  • Collaborate with the Head of School on administrative tasks, including staff scheduling, enrollment management, and student and staff compliance checks.

  • Support teaching staff with family communications, including assessments, school reports, etc.

  • Build a strong team of teachers by conducting interviews and hiring events to support site staffing needs.

  • Travel to multiple locations to provide coaching and mentorship to teaching teams to support their performance. This may include conducting 1:1 check-ins, performance review meetings, and observations.

  • Support team with classroom setup and ensuring center has the necessary materials onsite order before each semester.

  • Oversee the management of the Bloomz application for NY Preschool each semester; including updates and parent communication.

  • Review Welcome Packets to inform teachers of student-specific information.

  • Support children's separation for all programming needs.

  • Conduct tours for preschool and enrichment programs.

  • Provide detailed information to clients about programming and support sales efforts.

  • Address behavior, separation, and children's needs as required.

  • Conduct team meetings, education meetings, and train new hires.

Compliance

  • Serve as the designated Education Director for locations as required.

  • Guarantee your location(s) align with DOHMH/DOE regulations.

  • Regularly audit student and staff files to ensure compliance

  • Ensure site safety and maintenance, including fire alarm checks.

  • Ensure team member compliance and conduct monthly drills.

  • Prepare for facility inspections and send out monthly calendars.

Summer Camp

  • Manage camp assignments, schedules, and logistics.

  • Support new students and families during camp.

  • Conduct tours for summer camp and handle hiring/training needs.

  • Create daily camp groups and update staffing as needed

Requirements

Who should apply? (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Masters degree preferred.

  • NY state teaching certification in early childhood education (birth-2) or special education (birth-2) required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher.

  • Minimum 1 year of mentorship or management experience required.

  • Experience with NY DOH licensing compliance, article 47 preferred.

  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

  • Ability to prioritize, time manage and organize effectively

  • Must be honest, dependable, receptive to feedback, and able to meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
