Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Coordinates Education programs/partnerships for the University of South Carolina Union with existing partner institutions and organizations. This includes serving as program lead for USC Union on 2+2 Education degree pathways with USC Upstate and on its associated advisory board; as well as program lead for partnership with the SC Afterschool Alliance program/initiative.
Work with USC Union Enrollment and Marketing staff to promote education programs and recruit students into those programs, coordinating activities such as open houses, regional presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, etc. Serves as liaison between students, partnered campuses/schools and organizations, and USC Union faculty and staff. Conduct regular follow-up to ensure pertinent information is provided and addressed in a timely manner.
Provide ongoing student advising for students pursuing education pathways and address related academic issues with appropriate parties as needed. Develop new partnerships with organizations and secondary/comprehensive institutions in the surrounding areas as they relate to education (e.g. teacher training workshops over the summers). Produce regular reports on new and existing partnerships and maintain regular schedule of visits and events related to education initiatives. Seeks grant/external funding to support education students and initiatives, such as specialized training programs, summer experiences, etc.
Compiles and shares data related to education initiatives and programs, including 2+2 Education degree pathways with USC Upstate and the partnership with the SC Afterschool Alliance. Advises other administrators on matters relating to the education initiatives and opportunities. Conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards.
Adhere to all state and federal accreditation and college rules and regulations regarding student eligibility. Accurately portray all college educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial consideration to students, parents, and educators. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Education or related field.
