POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the overall development of staff competencies. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with the lead physician(s) and GFC Administrator/Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer to develop educational modules, competencies, orientation program, and education of staff.

This education will include all skills necessary and appropriate to providing safe, quality of care to patients needing advanced monitoring services in this unit or on the hospital inpatient units. Other educational duties as assigned by the Administration/Chief Nursing Officer. Gives direction to:

Staff for education, orientation and competencies related to patient care; and all clinical and clinical support staff. Receives direction from: GFC Chief Nursing Officer.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required

Master's Degree in Nursing and/or Education, preferred

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years as an RN

5 years of experience with leadership skills

Critical Care experience, preferred

3 years of educational experience in a medical setting, preferred

Experience in program development and education over site, preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Current RN license for the state of Montana

CPR, required.

ACLS and PALS, required or obtained upon employment

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge and experience with overseeing the operations of an out-patient setting and policy writing.

Needs to be highly skilled interacting with people at all levels of the organization.

Must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, be customer service oriented, and work as an integral part of the team.

Requires flexibility, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Must be able to demonstrate ability to initiate and develop special projects.

Must be able to handle a busy workload.
