The Educational Coordinator is a key member of the site leadership team. The EdCo is responsible for oversight of the classrooms from an operational perspective and leads teams in the creation, maintenance and production of IEPs. The EdCo sets the pace for both academic and functional classrooms and their day to day performance and environment to assure maximum independence for students with challenging behaviors while maintaining safety throughout the campus. The EdCo woks with teachers and provides support relative to instructions regarding community life, vocation, leisure, domestic issues, academic learning, independent living and social skills.
JOB SUMMARY:
Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health and Education which has over 3,000 employees across the U.S. We are looking for a committed Educational Coordinator to complement our qualified workforce of educators. As the Educational Coordinator (EdCo) you will be the primary educational and behavioral resource for the school's classrooms. This includes direct supervision of all assigned teachers and monitoring quality of services while ensuring classroom and site adherence to all state-mandated and internal procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a California credentialed Special Education teacher who is passionate about the job and has an ability to reach out to the staff and create a strong team environment.
Responsibilities:
Takes the lead for the school for adherence to the company, school, State and Federal regulations regarding all student IEPS and PBPs.
Works closely with parents, care providers, and district personnel in a positive and supportive manner.
Ensures the use of positive teaching methods by providing coaching/training and observing classroom staff's implementation of IEP goals and PBPs.
Provides guidance, consultation, and assistance to teachers in the development of classroom schedules, maintenance of student data systems and facilitation of student transition plans to assure appropriate curriculum, schedule, and services are provided based on each student's IEP and other applicable goals.
