As an Education Coordinator you will:

Education Coordinators must pass state and company background checks. Experience and educational requirements include:

  • At least two years of professional teaching experience with infant to preschool children.

  • CDA or equivalent ECE credits required.

  • Associate's degree or higher in ECE or related degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required.

VIEW JOBS 11/25/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-23T00:00 Job Description The office of Diversity, Education and Outreach at the Broad is responsible for the creation and delivery of innovative programming that aims to increase the number of students, especially those from historically underrepresented populations, entering and succeeding in STEM careers. Our office has expertise in developing and implementing curricula for middle school, high school, undergraduate students and post-baccalaureate trainees. Our programs have connected thousands of students with Broad scientists, teaching and inspiring students to pursue successful STEM careers. The program coordinator will primarily support the Diversity, Education and Outreach Program director and the participants of Broad's Summer Research Program (BSRP - undergraduates) and Broad Biomedical Postbaccalaureate Scholars (BBPS). The coordinator will be responsible for administrative tasks such as scheduling, travel arrangements, and other logistics related to the programs. In addition, the program coordinator will take part in the program design and delivery when appropriate The program coordinator will join an office that employs a team-based approach. Principal Duties and Responsibilities * Maintain and organize all processes for application and participant selection, including corresponding with potential applicants, scheduling selection committee meetings and organizing applicant files, including data entry. * Plan, organize and schedule a variety of activities, including program events and special projects, including set-up and breakdown, event registration, ordering supplies and catering and other relevant tasks. * Serve as point of contact and liaison between DEO and offices across the Broad, and with collaborating institutions, vendors and partner organizations. * Support and assist in the delivery of existing program content, in coordination with the program director. * Develop and maintain relationships with partners at other institutions. * Interact with students and their mentors, program participants and other Broadies through a variety of program activities, one-on-one interactions, presentations and maintenance of program calendars. * Collect and enter all data in designated databases, including program evaluation and tracking information for prospective, current, and previous participants. * Coordinate all activities related to recruitment of BSRP and BBPS, including creation of web content and other sources, i.e. brochures and flyers. * Maintain the BSRP and BBPS webpages, including writing content, finding resources, and updating pages. * Coordinate domestic travel and arrange housing for participants. * Attend meetings and conferences representing the DEO office. * Some travel required. * Other related tasks as required MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelors in STEM, science education or related field required with 2+ years of experience * Master's or PhD in STEM or STEM Education preferred. * Ability to constructively interact with students, faculty, and other administrative partners inside and outside of the Broad. * Demonstrated ability to support members of historically underrepresented groups in STEM. * Experience in undergraduate education and outreach preferred * Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. * Must demonstrate strength in oral and written communication. * Must be able to multi-task, and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. * Must be able to use sound judgment to handle a variety of tasks and effectively anticipate and solve problems. * Occasional evening and weekend hours required especially during the summer time.
