Job Summary:

Facilitates continuing education programs and events offered through the Education Department, and is the administrator of the HealthStream learning system. Holds responsibility for the oversight and management of HealthStream for the Anderson Healthcare organization.

Maintains proficient computer skills for creating and maintaining databases and publications. Provides assistance to other departments and the community with the scheduling of events and programs and the maintenance of educational records. Oversees contract management of student affiliation agreements and facilitates student experiences. Assists with other functions of the Education Department including Hospital Orientation for new employees and American Heart Association programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversees the HealthStream learning system by developing programs, maintaining accurate records,

troubleshooting problems, assisting with department reports and communicating updates with

departments.

Assists with coordination, scheduling and implementation of educational events and programs for hospital staff and the community, including production of materials, handouts, and flyers for programs and maintenance of attendance records.

Utilizes computer skills and computer programs effectively, accurately and in a timely manner.

Demonstrates flexibility to meet staffing needs of department/organization.

Maintains a well-organized and functional unit, including correspondence of messages, tidiness of

department, and maintenance of department forms and supplies.

Assists with the orientation of new employees, including coordinating and implementing parts of

Hospital Orientation, which includes public speaking.

Coordinates, schedules and instructs BLS courses.

Assists in the maintenance of the American Heart Association Training Center programs, including instructor and provider documentation, and creation and distribution of cards in a timely manner.

Oversees the student volunteer program, including orientation of the volunteers and organizing activities and volunteer sites.

Manages the high school student programs, including orientation, scheduling and oversight, and

facilitates the placement of other student experiences.

Assists with the initiation, revision, and maintenance of the clinical affiliation agreements for clinical

students.

Assists with the coordination of multimedia equipment and hospital meeting space, including oversight of Meeting Room Manager.

Qualifications

Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher in healthcare field preferred.

Certification/Licensure: BLS certification within 30 days of hire. BLS instructor certification required within 6 months of hire.

Experience Requirements: Excellent computer skills required.

Excellent organizational skills required. Previous IT background or work with computer programs preferred. Previous teaching experienced preferred.

Working Conditions: Exposure Category III

Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.

The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, although situations can be hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids.
