Job Responsibilities

The person in this position will coordinate and monitor reviews of all field test items before, during, and after Content and Fairness meetings to ensure adherence to the principals of Universal Design as the content allows. Review all forms at Forms Construction and select forms that will be used as the accommodated form for the End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP). Review and/or organize reviews of customized forms, Large Print, Braille American Printing House (APH), Visual Sign Language (VSL), Test to Speech (TTS), print forms, answer documents, Oral Administration and Signed Administration Scripts, and Large Print forms.

Develop, edit, and review brochures, manuals, guides, presentations, and other publications to effectively communicate test policies and procedures related to testing accountability and support for students with disabilities. Provide training to Special Populations coordinators, School Test Coordinators (STC), District Test Coordinators (DTC), and other stakeholders on the procedures policies described in South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) publications. Work with DTCs, SCDE content test developers and test administrators, and the contractor (as needed) to evaluate Special Circumstance Requests to accommodate students in a way that does not affect the reliability or validity of the assessments for both South Carolina (SC) READY and EOCEP test administrations.

Work within SCDE to coordinate with other offices and teams to review Access Limited Requests. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

This position is located in the Office of Assessment and Standards.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.

Preferred Qualifications

A master's degree and four (4) years' experience in special education or a bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in special education. Dual certification in Special Education and General Education preferred.
