Requisition Number: 28905 Job Title: _____ASSISTANT II Working Title: Education Assistant Salary: $20.27 - $28.78 hourly Job Type: Career Department Name: 5625-UNEX-EDUCATION Department Website URL: Job Summary Statement: Under the direct supervision of the department director, the Education Department Administrative Assistant supports Pathway program operations specifically and department operations more generally. Responsibilities include: (a) coordinating Pathway student admissions, financial aid, and student enrollment processes, as well as communicating information directly to Pathway students and families; (b) completing, monitoring, maintaining proper documentation, and following correct procedures for all department purchasing and payment transactions; (c) assisting staff in making arrangements for special events and meetings, travel, entertainment, and facilities use; (d) maintaining an effective office environment and office operations, including maintaining adequate office supplies, monitoring proper operations of equipment, handling incoming and outgoing mail; and maintaining proper storage of department documentation, (e) providing support as needed to field incoming department calls and email; and (f) other duties as assigned. Percentage of Time: 100 Shift Start: 8:00 am Shift End: 5:00 pm Qualifications for Position

Ability to work with large amounts of detail with appropriate attention paid to accuracy.


Ability to be sensitive to and maintain confidentiality of records.


Ability to organize work flow and complete assignments under fluctuating conditions and interruptions.


Strong interpersonal skills that foster the ability to (a) work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners; (b) provide excellent service to customers; (c) diplomatically resolve complaints, and (d) demonstrate respect for persons of various social, cultural, economic, and education backgrounds.


Strong organizational skills to effectively manage, store, and retrieve information (e.g., correspondence, financial records, student and program documentation).


Strong written English communication skills to compose clear, concise, and error-free informational and instruction documents, email, and letters.


Strong verbal and written comprehension skills.


Mathematical skills sufficient to perform basic calculations, ratios, rates, percentages and other financial operations with speed and accuracy.


Proficiency with using spreadsheets to input data, use formulas for calculations, and create summary charts. Experience using databases to input data. Proficiency using a Window-based computer, email and calendar applications, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software applications.


Demonstrated ability to show initiative to monitor and improve office processes that will lead to greater productivity or efficiency, or foster improved employee or customer satisfaction.


Knowledge of and experience with basic accounting principles, particularly as they apply to a non-profit organization


Working knowledge of UCLA business and accounting policies, and procedures for financial transactions.

Can be trained

Working knowledge of UCLA and UCLA Extension departments, including those that provide services for students.

Working cross functionally, you will seek to find the gaps in understanding both internally and externally in the post community regarding Netflix's current and future efforts to protect creative intent. Once armed with these insights, you will set a strategic plan leveraging events, press (working with internal Netflix PR teams), social media, white papers, panel placement and other outreach efforts to close those gaps with better industry context. You'll be leading a strong existing team as they look to grow their impact in the space and drive real change in the evolving post landscape. Sample efforts include; placing Netflix SMEs on industry panels at IBC, NAB, and other events, overseeing several internal training programs on Post Production, overseeing a guest speaker program showcasing creative talent in the post sector to Netflix employees, ensuring below-the-line post talent is represented and supported at awards presentations and festivals, overseeing the annual strategy around society sponsorships, hosting social events for Netflix post partners and growing a pipeline of new talent through higher education partnerships.
