Salary:             Range 68: $82,512 - $108,252 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION

AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State.  Any exceptions must be approved.  If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.

  • Perform analysis of documented business requirements to validate the scope.

  • Provide insights for the development effort pertaining to documented business requirements.

  • Liaise with technical and business groups, communicating effectively between the two entities.

  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under development or consideration to determine its intended functionality.

  • Create and maintain detailed test plans, test conditions, test criteria, test cases, test scripts, test cycles, test data, and issues logs.

  • Unit test code using manual and automated test processes.

  • Regression tests the application and reporting solutions when defects have been corrected and resubmitted.

  • Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data model, and court business domains to ensure reports meet expectations.

  • Gathers report requirements and analyzes, develops and maintains operational and management reports for AOC and the courts.

  • Addresses problem tickets to resolve issues within mission critical systems as assigned.

  • Work collaboratively to enhance or improve business processes via integration, or as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.

  • Development and testing of reports using Business Intelligence tools, Extract, Transform, and Load solutions, and/or SQL queries.

  • Evaluate results of integration efforts, then report and make recommendations based on findings.

  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

  • Communicate system problems and issues to key stakeholders, including both technical and business end users.

A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Business Intelligence Specialist may substitute for the qualifications listed.

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, OR closely allied field, AND:           

  • Four (4) years of experience in a complex information technology environment.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • SQL Programming Language knowledge and ability to generate queries and reports.

  • Technical and business requirements analysis.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting skill.

  • Ability to create automated test scripts

  • Knowledge of SQL 2012 or higher, including programmable objects such as stored procedures

  • Knowledge of SAP Business Objects or other ad hoc reporting tools and/or knowledge of a dashboarding tool such as Tableau.

  • Practical application knowledge with the reporting tools to demonstrate appropriate development, testing, and maintenance of business and data layer objects, queries and reports of moderate complexity.

  • Interpreting complex instructional manuals, guidelines, and procedures, with limited assistance.

  • Skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting, resolving conflicts and bringing others to consensus.

  • Working knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analysis

  • Strong customer service orientation and focus.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct research into software and reporting solutions as required by the business.

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Self-motivated and directed.
