The Department of Revenue's core mission is to collect the revenues required to support the business of the Commonwealth, to make a difference in the lives of children by enforcing the financial responsibilities of parenthood, and to assist Massachusetts cities and towns in sound and efficient fiscal management. Our vision is to conduct our operations in a manner that inspires public confidence in government by administering and enforcing tax, child support and municipal finance laws in ways that are innovative, customer-focused and transparent.
The Operations Division provides information and assistance to taxpayers and tax practitioners of the Commonwealth, reviews applications for abatement of tax and adjusts taxpayer accounts. Operations mission is to deliver outstanding customer service, maximize revenue collections using the most innovative cost-effective means available and to promote DOR's enhanced web service self-help tools.

1.Extract all documents from envelope and sort accordingly by category.
2.Batch and prepare all incoming documents for Doc Prep and Child Support documents.
3.Perform scanning functions for tax forms and child support documents.
4.Scans tax returns and child support documents by operating a 2D IBML scanner.
5.Perform Form ID, Batch Review and Rescan functions on Fairfax.
6.Process documents on a flatbed Fujitsu and Kodak scanners.
7.Assists in the transport and storage of batches in workflow.
8.Slice on the Omation 306 slicing machines all inbound mail directed to the processing division.
9.Key/edit various returns on Fairfax and GeniSys on line systems.
10. Basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft applications.
11. Assist in all processing duties based on operational needs and goals set by the department.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have (A) at least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, clerical experience in the operation of electronic data processing data entry equipment or statistical machines such as key punch, key to disk, key to tape and verifiers, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
I. A certificate or diploma as evidence of completion of a course of study in business or electronic data processing or computer programming may be substituted for the required experience.*
II. An Associate's degree in business or electronic data processing or computer programming may be substituted for the required experience.
