The Lead Software Development Engineer performs a critical role in designing, developing and delivering Global Party Management system solutions and MetLife Electronics Death Match (EDM) process, in alignment with MetLifes Enterprise Data Management Strategy. Global Party Management data warehouse provides 360 degree view of MetLife customers. EDM is a critical business process to meet MetLifes legal and regulatory requirements.
He/she leads on-site and offshore technical team of Vendors and potential FTEs to successfully develop test and deliver large and/or complex programs and projects. He/she will manage SDLC, influence design approach, generate artifacts, solicit feedback, communicate and drive collaboration with key stakeholders and senior business leaders across the Strategy, Delivery, Enterprise Architecture, QA and other organizations in MetLifes Global Technology and Operations (GTO) and Lines of Business (LOBs).
The Lead Software Development Engineer is accountable for the requirement analysis, solution architecture, design, development, integration, delivery, project management, finance management and leading a technical team. The candidate serves as a technical expert to the project team and must demonstrate knowledge of database, data warehouse processes, ETL, data profiling, data lineage, web services and Informatica MDM
Responsible for SDLC, technical design and development, aligns technical solutions with business strategy and enterprise standard, and ensures that technical deliverables are on track
Share responsibility of overall delivery of the track and ensures technical tasks and risks are defined and incorporated into project plan. Improve day to day team operations
Develop functional knowledge and subject matter expertise required to execute as a technical lead. Provide technical leadership for architecting and maintaining robust and scalable solutions Lead and mentor peers and junior team members.
Work in a highly cross-functional environment, partner with multiple businesses and IT teams. Lead multiple projects simultaneously
Guide and motivate technical team
10 years of software development experience
7+ years of experience in database management, data warehouse and application development using ETL and Informatica techniques
5+ years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
Demonstrated experience with project management, financial management, including budget, forecasting, and financial planning activities
2+ years of experience in web development. Java, J2EE framework, scripting languages (JSON, An script), Web Server (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat)
1+ years of experience in Informatica MDM
1+ year experience in Big Data components. HDFS, Hive, and Spark.
Previous experience in insurance, financial services or management consulting organizations.
PMP or ITIL certification
