Editorial Process Analyst

East View is a leading provider of information products and services serving researchers worldwide. Our product/content portfolio is highly international and encompasses research content in more then 80 languages.

The Editorial Process Analyst will play an integral role in analyzing and architecting digital publishing workflows to create EVIS online products and digital solutions, reporting to the Director of Digital Publishing. A successful candidate should have a solid understanding of the digital publishing process, from digital capture of content to metadata and content management processes, and related industry specifications, standards, and emerging technologies regarding digital imaging, OCR technology, etc. The Editorial Process Analyst will collaborate with multiple internal departments and digital publishing staff, as well as external technology vendors and content providers to support publishing deadlines and the company's financial and strategic objectives in the creation of its digital products.

Candidates must be based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN metro area. This is a hybrid position and will require an in-office presence a few days each week. No relocation fee is being offered.

This is not a role for IT generalists. The position is specific to content operations. A successful candidate will have experience using or learning software for administering large file shares and similar operations. But an interest and background in academic publishing or a related field and the requisite skillset for cross-team communication and problem solving are key.

Key Duties:

• Architect, document, and coordinate workflows associated with EVIS digital products. This includes wire-framing processes and curating project charters, as well as maintaining basic financial tracking in conjunction with departmental leadership and EVIS Finance dept.

• Liaise between internal publishing staff, interdepartmental stakeholders, external vendors and content owners.

• Provide strategic input on process improvement, identification and vetting of technology partners.

• Define user requirements by conferring with the administration and sales staff at East View, studying the needs and interests of customers, conducting competitive intelligence, reviewing professional literature.

• Provide continuous innovation, process improvement and cost-efficiency across East View's Department of Digital Publishing and between departments.

• Providing process/technical consultations to external customers as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Masters preferred

• 3+ years in information services, digital production, preservation or digital conversion services or relevant field

• Desired:

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, strategic thinking and ability to work collaboratively and independently.

• Creative, problem-solving mindset.

• Enthusiasm and interest for foreign-language content a plus, regardless of fluency/lack of fluency in any specific language.
