STV's Marketing Communications Group has an opportunity for an organized, motivated professional to join our growing team. This position will be located in our New York office, in the heart of Union Square.

Responsibilities:

The Editorial Manager will lead, mentor, and motivate a team of marketing editors located in various offices. The right candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the marketing databases and adherence to the quality standards of the group.

Will review staff's work products and prepare/edit written materials, as necessary. Responsible for identifying operational improvements to increase efficiencies. The position requires writing and editing documents that describe the firm's qualifications, such as resumes and project descriptions, as well as technical materials that are produced for proposals and reports.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills. Experience managing staff is a must.

Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with personnel throughout the various levels within the organization throughout the country; excellent verbal, writing, editing, and proofreading skills; keen attention to detail; and the ability to work with both senior technical and junior editorial staff are also a must.

Skilled in working with draft documents, typically created by multiple authors, that require organization, consolidation, proofreading, review for consistency, as well as development of a coherent, unified tone would be beneficial. Familiarity with architectural/engineering/construction (AEC) industry is ideal. Qualified candidates should be able to manage multiple assignments, and be willing to work overtime, when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • College degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or other relevant writing-intensive fields of study

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access and Adobe InDesign, a plus

  • 10+ years of editorial work experience

  • Supervisory experience

This is also an editorial training role where the Editorial Assistant provides support to editors on their authors, providing first reads of manuscripts, revision notes, line-edits and packaging support.
