LendingTree is looking for a dedicated editorial assistant to support its growing editorial team in New York City.

Job duties

  • Write and schedule our weekly newsletters and news round-ups.

  • Work with editors to create assignments in our freelancer task management system.

  • Light administrative duties such as ordering supplies, arranging meetings, and acting as a remote liaison in between our office in NYC and our facilities team, which is based in Charlotte.

  • Assist in managing the internal editorial calendar, making sure assignments are tracked as they are submitted.

  • Assist manage social media accounts (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook) for various LendingTree properties as needed.

  • Help format articles in Wordpress and ready them for publication when needed.

  • Manage package deliveries to the office and greet/sign-in visitors in our NYC office.

  • Potential to contribute one or two articles per month, depending on progress.

  • This role reports to the Executive Editor.

Reporting to the Executive Editor, the Editorial Assistant will play a central role in ensuring all key administrative processes are proactively planned and executed. This individual will develop proficiency in all pertinent internal systems and he/she will ensure that all authors, contributors and vendors are paid in a timely manner. This position will be responsible for organizing and storing data/files so that key information is easily accessible. Main accountabilities: * Support all members of the Medical Textbook and Test Prep editorial team. Coordinate inflow and manage of tracking signings, transmittals, and publications. * Support editors in achieving their acquisition goals by assisting with author/editor correspondence, sending and tracking contracts, communicating with reviewers, and helping with research as needed * Manage contributor databases, author/contributor contracting and payments, online plant cost tracking spreadsheets, medical and professional Pub Plan tracking documents, and all activities that are essential to supporting the product list. * Become adept in all internal payment/contract/data systems required to perform basic duties. * Process and submit vendor/contractor payments in a timely manner. * Coordinate and schedule meetings as needed. What you will need to be successful? * Administrative support experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment. * Ability to communicate effectively * Proven track record of successfully and proactively managing multiple projects simultaneously. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office * Working knowledge of document sharing/management programs (Dropbox, Google Docs, Box, etc.) * Working knowledge of social media. * General aptitude to learn new software programs.
