Main Purpose of Job:
The Scientific & Academic Research business of our Client provides research and analytic solutions, including Web of Science, the gold standard citation database and search platform, that help scientists and researchers find, analyze, and leverage authoritative scholarly content.
Customers include universities, academic and governmental research institutions, scholars and researchers, publishers, and university faculty and administrators.

The editor will be able to present and defend selection criteria for journals based on an informed use of metrics.
The focus of the Web of Science book selection editor will be be the selection of the most relevant and impactful content resources according to our Client's selection criteria and policy.
Reporting to the Manager, Content Selection this positions primary responsibility will focus on evaluating and selecting scientific books and conference proceedings for a content set of scholarly literature.
Duties and responsibilities:
Select and maintain a collection of scholarly books and proceedings for indexing in the Web of Science
Resolve and reply to inquiries from editors and publishers regarding coverage and selection criteria.
Library/information science (Graduate level or above) experience with book cataloging or content selection
Experience in commissioning and/or editing scholarly books
Native English or high level of language proficiency
Strong knowledge of scholarly literature in the sciences, social sciences and humanities
Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Word Access and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently
High level of skill in the use of databases, particularly Web of Science and similar
Well organized with regards to policy, standards and work priorities
Fluency in European languages desirable but not required
Commissioning and/or editing scholarly books desired.
