We're looking for an editor who knows how to execute sophisticated, aggressive, unconventional and solutions-oriented reporting.

Specifically, the editor uses experience, judgment and the cutting-edge analytics tools available to USA TODAY NETWORK journalists to coach and support journalists in our newsrooms in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac with substantial support from editors and reporters across USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin's 10-newsroom group.

Coaching is a fundamental role, and the editor will know that guiding journalists during the front-end of the reporting process is critical to producing the best work. The editor will have a keen appreciation for storytelling techniques and forms and the ability to draw the best out of our journalists.

USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin comprises 135 journalists across 10 newsrooms, making it the state's largest news organization. We've also got the nation's No. 1 combined online and print audience reach and the deeply engaged readership that comes with that loyalty.

This is an excellent opportunity for a journalist who is looking to join a robust organization that's leading efforts nationally to build a statewide newsroom as part of the nation's largest news network.

We prefer a journalist who is already in the editing ranks, but will consider an experienced reporter hoping to make a career leap.

The Salvation Army Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Responsibilities * Fully support The Salvation Army PR strategy and execute it in different phases * Create and curate engaging content for our Facebook page and website SAOshkosh.org * Communicate and build relationships with local Oshkosh area media outlets * Create and distribute press releases and letters to the editor conveying essential points regarding Salvation Army programs and success stories * Generate written promotional materials as required * Build and update media list and data bases * Schedule, coordinate and attend various events * Perform research and market analysis activities Qualifications * Strong desire to learn along with professional drive * Solid understanding of the different social media networks * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Efficiency at MS Office * Passion for the PR industry and its best practices * Current enrollment in a related university/college program * Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication * Valid Wisconsin Driver's license with approval to drive from TSA insurance.
