Assistant Managing Editor

The Assistant Managing Editor is responsible for overseeing the editorial office for a list of journals, most importantly in supervising the progression of journal submissions through the peer review process, from submission to final decision, using the online electronic editorial office system or alternative systems where these are in place, vendor management, and in undertaking other projects and duties as required.
You will be responsible for supervising the peer review process from checking in submissions to exporting manuscripts to production, including communicating with editors, authors and reviewers. The Assistant Managing Editor will collaborate with vendors to ensure quality of workflow and process.
Science background preferred
Professional publishing experience or equivalent.
Vendor management experience.
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of using ScholarOne Manuscripts for the journal peer review process.
Experience with Microsoft Office
Proven ability to prioritise own work load, and work independently on many different projects simultaneously
