Imagination is a content marketing agency based in Chicago. We believe that Imagination creates endless possibilities, and we exist to help our clients build relationships that last.

Are you as obsessed as we are with creating killer social and digital content? Imagination is seeking an editor to work on a leading association's award-winning omnichannel content program.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills-and be able to seamlessly shift between editing an in-depth feature to brainstorming a video campaign. An interest in social impact and global business trends is a must.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has at least 3-5 years of multichannel journalism experience

  • Is comfortable writing and editing in a variety of formats: features, infographics, video scripts, social media posts

  • Is a news junkie and loves to keep up with the latest content trends

  • Has experience in business journalism

  • Can synthesize complex topics

  • Is highly organized with the ability to work independently on multiple projects, juggling competing deadlines

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day social media content creation, production, QA and workflow for select clients across multiple platforms

Collaborate with editorial team to develop content ideas

  • Write and edit manuscripts and social posts to create content that's interesting enough to stop the scroll-and aligns to client goals

  • Keep pace with social media and content marketing industry trends and developments

  • Collaborate with design teams as needed

For Chicago-based applicants, the team works on a hybrid in-office schedule, with two days per week in the office. We are flexible and work to accommodate our team member's needs.

We are a diverse team located remotely across the U.S. and internationally<p><strong>ABOUT THE JOB:</strong></p><p>The Deputy Editor, Personal Finance is a key part of the ConsumerAffairs content team, helping to oversee the editorial process. They will help direct distinctively useful personal finance content, care about protecting consumers, and have a vision for what best-in-class advice for financial products looks like. Main duties include creating assignment outlines/briefs, communicating with writers to improve copy, editing the content thoroughly and ensuring it meets rigorous SEO and editorial best practices before publishing. The Deputy Editor reports to the Managing Editor, Personal Finance and helps ensure the company reaches its publication goals.</p><p>This is a remote, full-time contract position.</p><p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Rigorously edit content produced by staff and freelance writers to ensure ConsumerAffairs meets publishing goals</li><li>Meet weekly, monthly and quarterly editorial publication goals </li><li>Edit content for accuracy and grammar</li><li>Help establish the ConsumerAffairs voice, tone, and relationship with consumers</li><li>Ensure all published content meets company compliance standards</li><li>Take keyword research from the SEO team and produce outlines/assignment briefs for freelance and staff writers </li><li>Communicate with writers to ensure content meets quality standards </li></ul><ul><li>Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner and demonstrating respect for others. </li></ul><p><em>(These responsibilities are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed.
