Campbell Ewald is seeking an exceptionally talented Editor / Content Editor. Were looking for a disciplined, self-starter who knows how to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
Responsible for editing and developing online editorial content for existing clients, as well as integrating these services for new clients. Must have the experience and knowledge to understand how content is consumed on the Web, and to integrate that thinking in the editorial development process.
Must think beyond text and images to understand the interactive nature of the Web and the different mediums it can accommodate (video, audio, slide shows, etc.) and integrate those elements into the story-telling process in a cohesive and compelling manner.
Supervise or handle all aspects of editorial process, including creating a story lineup; writing copy when necessary; assigning stories or video or audio; administering edit budget, such as filling out appropriate Purchase Order request forms; editing manuscripts; assisting with the editing of rough-cut video or audio clips; ensuring deadlines are met; assisting in fact-checking stories; receiving and inputting client changes; and finalizing page proofs. Furnish final proofs to Editorial Director before turning over to prepress.
Work with internal or freelance art staff on concepts and provide contacts and ready art whenever possible or applicable.
Edit each piece of content, making sure word counts conform to agreed-upon totals. Ensure copy conforms to appropriate stylebook and anticipate legal changes.
Ensure captions, ledes, headlines and subheads are convincing and compelling.
5+ years of experience writing digital content
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
Desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines
