Systems Analyst

Work directly with client staff or under the direction of the Contractor's IT Manager, Systems Manager, or Senior Systems Analyst. Defines system and project requirements. Designs entire systems to meet defined requirements based on information gathered from the client staff. Works out the details of functional and design requirements, systems design, programming specifications, data elements, data validation specifications, data capture mechanisms, and data conversion procedures through discussions with client staff and own superiors. Translates the functional requirements into systems designs suitable for development of appropriate computer programs. Tests software, including preparation and use of sample data for testing purposes. Makes presentations of findings, recommendations, and specifications in formal reports and in oral presentations. Develops systems documentation required in the task orders. Consults with client staff and with other Contractor staff to assure understanding of task objectives; identifies problems and suggests improvements. Provides technical expertise, direction and supervision to lower level personnel. May sometimes function as a technical supervisor or team leader for a project. Reports on progress to client staff and to superiors. Provides user and technical documentation and training for systems developed.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Use SQL and other tools to create scripts to facilitate ediscovery processing.

  • Troubleshoot Relativity and LAW processing issues.

  • Upgrade software applications including Relativity and Brainspace.

  • Process incoming documents: Utilize Relativity Processing and LAW PreDiscovery to process data for ongoing litigation matters.

  • Work closely with a team of processing experts to best prepare documents for review.

  • Document processes.

  • Train peers on new scripts.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Experience writing sequel queries.

  • Experience working in ediscovery.

  • Experience upgrading applications.

  • Experience in automated litigation support.

  • 5 years' experience including 3 years working with related applications.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Technical certifications.

  • Undergraduate degree.

This person will support individual case teams using litigation technologies, assist case teams in managing litigation documents throughout the automation process, and advises, assists and trains case teams in the use of litigation systems and acts as primary liaison to assigned case teams for the eData (litigation support) department. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul> <li>Establishing a liaison role with the case team and assisting with any litigation support (eDiscovery) requirements. </li> <li>Consulting with and advising case teams on how to best use litigation support (eDiscovery) technologies to support their projects and consults on matters relating to electronic discovery as well as best practices for the preparation of documents (hardcopy and electronic format) for the automation process.</li> <li>Creating Relativity workspaces; processing data in Relativity workspaces; running searches at a case team request in Relativity workspaces; and producing documents from Relativity workspaces. </li> <li>Consulting with legal teams and clients on issues relating to the selection of third party hosting vendors and evaluation of proprietary review platforms, proper document production formats, management of vendor bidding and selection process, understanding the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and best practices for preservation and collection and document review and production workflow.</li> <li>Marketing litigation support (eDiscovery) services to legal teams including discussing benefits of automating document review and production process; reviewing and distributing of documentation regarding up-to-date litigation support (eDiscovery) trends and developing relationships with legal team personnel.</li> <li>Managing vendor relations including meeting with new vendors interested in working with the Firm; determining qualifications and references and sharing information to the group; monitoring and reviewing vendor invoices; maintaining pricing schedules; and keeping up to date on changes in vendor technologies.</li> <li>Tracking and managing workflow for all assigned projects outsourced to outside litigation support (eDiscovery) vendors and documents in a tracking database. Informing the Senior Discovery Operations Manager of issues relating to each project. Working with vendors to correct problems and ensuring that a quality deliverable is provided on schedule.</li> <li>Documenting and communicating project requirements and deadlines to vendors. Working with case teams to ensure that documents and electronic data are delivered to the vendor with clear written instructions relating to treatment.</li> <li>Delivering training on firm standard litigation support applications (Relativity, Brainspace, Opus 2, CaseManagerPro and TrialDirector) to users throughout the firm.</li> <li>Coordinating case team requests for technical support with Technical Operations.</li> <li>Coordinating coding projects, including vendor selection and review of coding manuals.</li> <li>Coordinating requests for new databases with Technical Operations personnel and assisting team members in selecting and designing appropriate data structures. Logging and documenting all requests. Monitoring and keeping up-to-date all tracking databases. Coordinating production of data and modification of database structures in consultation with Technical Operations.</li> <li>Coordinating database and workflow design.</li> <li>Training legal teams on management of Opus 2 databases. Importing and exporting transcripts to and from Opus 2 and providing related services as necessary.</li> <li>Creating logins for firm standard litigation support (eDiscovery) applications for internal and external users.</li> <li>As required by the case team, searching databases, printing reports, preparing custom reports and logging, modifying and coding data, print and organizing images. Assisting case teams with production of documents.
